This is ridiculous. Presumably everyone on this forum is an adult but we are not allowed to read swear words in case we are offended!! Sure, Chartist comes across as somewhat acrimonious, and some of his posts are a bit risque, however at least he is entertaining and obviously knowledgable. I personally feel that some of the racist mudslinging that goes on - totally unpoliced - is far more offensive and hurtful than any of Chartist's posts. Whoever is policing this forum has got it totally wrong.

I t is sad that we live in a country that supposed to embrace freedom of speech, asociation, religion etc etc, that someone gets banned.Late night on tv porn channels and adds rule,if you dont like it you dont watch it.On this forum if you are graphic with words that dont even come close to what we c or hear on tv is a bit like going back to the old days.Someone will tell us what we may watch ,look at ,do etc etc.Very very sad.

nothing stopping us from starting another forum, since I value the input too. Don't know how to go about doing it though

Hey Simon! Look at the top when you post a topic or reply. It says: "Standard Financial Markets exercises no control over the subject matter or content of this chat group and accepts no liability whatsoever for the content thereof. Please click here to see the conditions governing your use of this chat forum". The words 'no control' and 'accepts no liability' are clearly spelt out notwithstanding the verkrampte conditions. Get over it and get on with it, let Chartist back. If there's liability, then it's Chartist's problem if some granny wants to sue him

here's an idea and I've checked the conditions way back and it's quite alright to do since my intentions are to post a valid topic. I'm going to post a topic requesting that Chartist be un-banned, and I'll keep posting topics to get him un-banned until it is done. Get the message people?

I third that. The racist mud-slinging offends me so much that I attempt to sling mud back at the racists - not call for them to be banned.

I don't know the reason why they were banned, but if you read the Terms and Conditions, SFM cleary has the right and i am sure Simon has very valid reasons for his actions... quoted: "Standard Financial Markets may withdraw the rights of access of a person posting any material which Standard Financial Markets deems to be undesirable, including but not limited to, postings that are vulgar, defamatory, inaccurate, harassing, hateful, threatening or invading of others privacy. so, why don't they deal with the racist commentators? That's where I have a real problem with this! Anyway, since I've been a little lad, and especially since my sterling experiences in the 'ole SADF, I have a thing about authority and authoritarianism. Just because it's a rule or condition or law, I WILL flout it if I don't agree with it. Like a party deciding who rules instead of the voters (what absolute idiots vote that way?) Just because someone says it's law that I may not vote if I live overseas, or I may not vloek when I feel like it doesn't make that law or rule a right. Any law is only as good as a majority agreement, and I believe the majority on this forum feel different to the 'conditions'. I say again, if Chartist did step over the line then let him deal with the legal consequences, delete his comments and put the complainant and him together and they can sort it out. Cutting a voice off is nothing short of fascism

hmm, so in the ole SADF you must have flouted it as well? Yes?

Chartist, Just a thought, but why not just start your own forum on your own website? If I was allowed to put a couple adverts on it (in order for it to pay for itself), I'd be happy to host it for you for free. Jesuit, ask Chartist if he's interested, perhaps get him to email me ([email protected]).

I also find the racism on this forum extremely offensive. Far, far more so than dear old C

And I think let him back. His attacks on Simon are simply the result of some unrequited man crush. Admittedly, terrifying for the recipient, but kinda flattering in a creepy way.
