Anyone knows when this decision was made that we can't short AMS any longer? If so, where do they post such info?

in order for you to short the broker needs to borrow the shares to sell them into the market .. they aren't always able to borrw the shares and if they can't you can't short ..

But Simon, AMS has almost never been shortable. It is one of the top 10 biggest stocks on the JSE. How come this particular stock is singled out as not having sufficient supply to offer shorts?

maybe because it has a tiny free float wth AGL holding over 80% ??
