lol, how is this message: The JSE is having a problem with its systems. Trading can occur but data is not updating. Please trade with caution. How assuring :P

One day, somebody, somewhere, will lose a very big amount of money due to this type of nonsense and then we will see the biggest courtcase in the history of SA. There is absolutely no reason why any system should go down at any stage. It seems they have never heard of redundency or do not have a disaster recovery plan in place. Very, very bad service!

sure we're light years away from where we used to be .. but the fact remains, a perfect system that never goes down doesn't exist .. it can't .. sure maybe you get 99.9999999999999% up time, but you never get 100% ..

an not making excuses for the JSE, just a cold hard reality ..

This is now becoming a regular occurence at the JSE!!! Brokers of the world should unite and take them to task.

there is no way on earth you can make a perfect system that never goes down- but you sure as hell can have a backup system which can take over asap...

they could extend trading if we open late .. if we don;t open, no idea. Last time that happened was in 1987, the day after the crash they didn't open the market.

Surely we can't open at 3 to 5... ? or 4 to 10 PM sounds more ridiculous .... So I assume we will be closed the entire day ?
