Pivot Points

Who here is using pivot points? I have tried to see relevance to the daily pivot and s1,s2,r1,and r2 pivots in our market but each time I look at it I realize they don't seem to work. Who here is using pivots with sucess?? and if so why am I not finding them usefull??

They work very well, The thing is that you have to look at them in historical time as well

I see that today we gaped past the pp, r1 and r2 then tested the r2 before taking off again, ok maybe they workish.

Hennie, do you factor in the opening price for your pivot calculation or do you use the standard "yesterday's (H+L+C)/3"

yes --- P = (yesterday's high + yesterday's low + yesterday's close)/3

Hennie maybe a tut on how to work out the pivot ect would help. I've done it how I think it should be done obviously I'm wrong.
