Question for SEQ on the elusive PE ratio

Reply
Not applicable
Dear SEQ - there seems to be multiple different PE ratios for every stock on the site. As an example using the share filter and screening for PE ratio and ratio-price earnings (these are two seperate options) the former is reported as 13,6x for SBK while the latter is reported as 10,5x. Furthermore if you take the 12 month rolling historical HEPS as reported in the result summaries the implied PE for SBK on yesterday's closing rate of 10300c is 14,0x. Discrepancies for other stocks, eg in the resource sector, is much larger. Which is the correct PE and is it possible to standardise so that only one number is reported for a given stock at a given time. Many thanks
