If one of the big gold mining companies in SA were to sell one of their goldmines to a new mining company, how would the market react to the news? Surely this will be good for their share price - the company can then concentrate more on its overseas mining projects were the costs are much lower; costs in SA have been increasing steadily over the years. What do you think?

In principle, they would be selling a cash generating asset for what? To invest in a near term project? I don't think analysts would take too kindly, since it introduces a whole lot of risk. But that is just hypothetical. Usually they sell off their rubbish - which some fool (e.g. Simmers) is always prepared to have a go at - this analyts love!
