Regulation of markets i.e. Wall Street in particular

Reply
Not applicable
by the US government is behind the current red we seein in the markets. People are selling left, right and centre because they are not sure how will this regulation if it passes in the senate will affect the Wall Street. In short fear is behind the downs we have been seeing so far. I also see the Dow go below 10000 maybe closing at 9800 in tomorrows trade following the announcement of regulations by Obama's admin.

Dig deeper... fears are based mainly on European crisis halting world eco. recovery and maybe US and Europe dip back into recession and not possible new rules being introduced by US Gov.

It looks like the bill they're passing is missing the stuff the banks were worried about. No Glass-Steagal/Volker rules, amongst others. Market up in U.S...so far.

See ASX came back strongly from hideous opening lows. Other Asian indexes too.
