1. Help and education > Futures

2. If you refuse that, rather send me R1000 for each idea you dream up. I promise it'll be cheaper.

Short all you want just not until there is a break of 102 please. Mtn is consolidating at present and will break out either up or down be patient and go with. Shorting this share now is like going to the casino.

If I tell you, I'll feel bad because you'll lose money. Go through the material on futures under "Help and education". It does explain how to use the site to trade. Please don't be offended by this, but you need some combination of knowledge, effort and savvy to make any money from futures. If you just fire away on a hunch, you're almost guaranteed to lose. Consider the website a competence test that prevents you from losing all your money. (BTW it's not actually all that difficult...)

If you want to go long, you buy - if you want to short, you sell, even if you don't have the shares. On OST, when you go to a share on your watchlist - click on 'futures associated with this share'. A table will come up telling you if you can short the share or not (not all of them can be shorted - MTN can). I have not done you any favours here - RTFM first!! Especially the Technical analysis tutorial.

Listen to all the experts, it seems that all of you just made money from the start. Give the guy a break he is keen to learn and the only way you learn is trading!

If u have R10000 in your portfolio use only R10 for shorting that stock....right now! There was someone recently that went short on DRD in the morning with R20000. When he came back in the afternoon he was owing the bank R9000.

To add to this, there is plenty of literature here on how to go about trading different types of market instruments, the fact that posts like this are being made indicates that people are too *****ing lazy to go find out for theirselves.

if you going to short make sure you are sure you got a 70% chance of making money at 109 i say you got a 30% chance of being right at 118 50% I have made more going long at 102 or 98 or 105 shorting this stock you have got to have your eye on the minute charts the whole day with the market bouncing rather buy low wait till you bounce and sell ie platinium , mtn , gold ,sasol look for all options mate
