I have a question I please need help with. I bought 2 IMP contracts at 167.67 in oct I sold them yesterday at 209.27. It was a profit of R8165. But now shouldn't the R8165 + the amount I paid for them R 8316 by in my trading account available to trade, having a total of R16481? Reason I ask is it only looks like the profit of the trade is avaliable for trading?

you should be adding the P&L and intial margin columns to get back to your final cash position.

PS. you only get your initial margin back to trade with once you close out your position. that R8k you have to trade with is actually unrealised P&L, so just keep that in mind.

Thanks i now understand, so what happens is your profit is added to your available trading funds everyday or minused if you making a loss? and only the margin is returned in cash. Makes sense now thank you
