Some help on SSFs please. Does the underlying price play any roll in the price of the future? and is the profit and loss calculated from the SSF market price or the underlying price?

It use to but since the central order system was intro im nt sure anymore. P/L based on ssf price.

Central order system has not changed the fundamentals of SSF's, only how you buy them. The underlying definitely affects its price, as does date from expiry (which will determine the interest charged). There is a spreadsheet somewhere on the OST website, which shows how the price is determined. Be careful of trying to trade with SSF's now though, as the process for placing orders has become a bit tricky. Definitely not the preferred instrument of most traders nowadays

For this reason looks like OST is allowing free conversion of existing SSFs to CFDs - see notice on OST. Think I'll be doing that, trying to sell my existing SSF looks like it might be an exercise in pain...
