Share Fileter - PE vs Ratio-PE

Hi Simon,

In the share filter, you can select a filter on PE ration, but also on Ratio-Price/Earnings.

I would expect these two numbers to be the same, but they are not.

So, that makes me wonder, how are they computer other than the current price divided by the previous earnings?

The Ratio:PE value is (as per the little grey button in the ratio analysis sub item under the share's page) defined as the period end price vs the eps at that time. It is not tied to the current/prevailing price of the share.

DST, thanks. But I still do not understand why I get 2 different values for the PE for the same share.
is how is PE different from Radio-Price/Earnings as per the share filter options?

The one (PE) is a current price divided by latest 12 months eps. This will tend to move around as price moves around day to day. The other (from the ratio analysis data set) is the price at period end (can be over a year ago) divided by the then eps. It won't move.
