I bought 3000 CFD's at a margin price of 8.25 per share. This morning I logged on to share trading and the margin price changed to 9.75 per share. Thus R4500 went out of my portfolio as the exposure and risk went up. Could you assist me with this, as when I am telephoning the contact centre, I am dissconected with a connection error.

there was a margin change over night .. we notified SSF holders but in error CFD holders were not notified .. we basically use the SSF margin for CFD's (except of course divided by 100 for contract size) ..

safex revisist the margin requirements every two weeks .. if risk has increased or decreased in a stock they adjust margin accordingly ..

Margin is connected to the volatility and price of the underlying. As it changes, the margin is adjusted. Happens quaterly (I think).
