Simon's Lazt Trading System

Hi Maybe I am missing something here but I cannot seem to find a way to search the forum? Anyway, I wanted to ask Simon (or someone who may know) about his lazy trading system that I read so much about. Is this a system you had developed? Is it an electronic system that downloades prices and spits out buy/sell suggestions? How does it work? Just a bit of interest. Thanks

This is courtesy of Simon himself. Hope it self explains. 1. Long trade: a. Trigger: i. The price crosses the 15 day EMA from below. ii. The 15 day EMA is above the 30 day EMA. iii. The 30 day EMA is above the 60 day EMA. b. Confirmation: i. The price, at 16:30, is higher than the previous day's close. c. Conditions: i. If the next day the price is above its 15 day EMA but below the previous day's close, the trigger is still active. Wait for the price to be above its previous day's close at 16h30. ii. If the price moved below its 15 day EMA, the trigger is cancelled. iii. If the 30 day EMA is higher than the 60 day EMA, the primary direction is bullish. d. Stop loss and exit: i. Until you reach breakeven, use a 20% trailing stop. ii. Thereafter, a lower low signals your exit. 2. Short trade: a. Trigger: i. The price crosses the 15 day EMA from above. ii. The 15 day EMA is below the 30 day EMA. iii. The 30 day EMA is below the 60 day EMA. b. Confirmation: The price, at 16:30, is lower than the previous day's close. c. Conditions: i. If the next day the price is below its 15 day EMA but above the previous day's close, the trigger is still active. Wait for the price to be below its previous day's close at 16:30 the following day. ii. If the price moved above its 15 day EMA, the trigger is cancelled. iii. If the 30 day EMA is lower than the 60 day EMA, the primary trend is bearish. d. Stop loss and exit: i. Until you reach breakeven, use a 20% trailing stop. ii. Thereafter, a higher high signals your exit.

Well if something works why not follow it? I find I refined it to my requirements though...

just a couple of things is this for trading an index like the topi or individual shares or both, what is the success\ failure ratio of the system?

I've tried to get him to simply send us "buy", "sell", "drink" instructions to perfect the laziness aspect, but so far I'm disappointed by the results. There's all this EMA stuff, with hints here and there. Add in a bit of geocaching and you could really have fun - "go hither, look under a rock. there you will find your next clue".

All prices test their moving averages. I use the 50 EMA and the 200 EMA. For Stop Loss I have predefined level which is based on the risk I have taken on the trade. I study all asset classes before entering a trade. What I derive is based on the knowledge and the experience I have from the stock market.

Nice one, thanks guys for the feedback. Why index only and not individual shares?

What is meant with "a lower low signals your exit" (when going long), or "a higher high signals your exit" (when going short)?

When you're long, the price closes lower the next day and you have the day after that on an even lower close, exit.
