Stop Loss / Sell trigger

Hi All, I'm trying to configure a sell trigger, but I not sure how to do it or what the best way is to do it...What I want to do is to sell a share once it reaches a certain price. I had a look at the stop loss function, but if the price is lower than the stop loss trigger then it will sell the share...is the trailling stop loss the better option to configure in getting this type of trigger configured?

Hi.If you would like to sell when a certain price is reached, then just place a sell order (valid for a month) at that price. In addition you could place a stop loss (fixed or trailing, doesnt matter, although I prefer trailing)to protect you from losing, should the price go down. I hope this answer your question.

thanks...will try it. The only problem with the sell over a long time frame, it will greatly increase your brokerage fees as it can happen over multiple days and as thus you will pay multiple fees

I may be wrong, but as far as I know, your stop loss is ineffective as long as you have a sell order for the same share. I E the sell order takes precedence. Simon?
