Stop Losses

I have been batteling to place the correct stop losses for some time now, what i mean is stop losses that will not stop me out unecessarily, when it might be an buying/adding position and losses that will protect me, so I am trying now a multiple of the average trading range of a share. The multiple depends on the risk I want to take. Low multiple high risk and visa versa. Any comments/ advice ?

the strategy works fine, 2*atr minimum though. And watch out for squeezes, where you will have super tight trading ranges. Your stop will be pretty obvious and make a target for the stop fishermen!

It works for me. 3xATR is my norm
