Hi, Why is the TKG falling dratically, are people cashing in on their profits or are some people shorting the share and making a lot of money. If they are shorting, how do they manupulate share to go down. Because fundametally TKG is doing well, especially with the new acquistion of BCX coming soon.

That is how the stock market works. Nothing can go up in a straight line. In a bull market you get 2 legs up, 1 leg down, 2 legs up, 1 leg down. You got to look at the psychology of share trading to understand. Telkom was way overbought.. therefore it hit a resistance point at 62 and 63 that couldn't be broken after a couple attempts, therefore lots of sellers came in and sold and as the price dropped people started selling and got closed out therefore causing a faster and faster drop and when you get more buyers coming back in like now and then people short get stopped out it supports the drop and prices start to go up again. In this case people got kicked out so badly you expect the price to go up the same quick speed it dropped. I expect us to break through 63 in the next leg up and take on 66 then 70.

The government is considering selling at least part of their 40% stake in Telkom to finance Eskom. Such a sale would flood the market and seriously affect the price and people started panicking. I am not impressed by the casual way this idea was was thrown into the market! One might even wonder if someone did not make a fortune going short on it...
