When do you exactly have to pay tax on the devidends received? And I have heared that any devidends received this year will be tax free, is this true?

My understanding is that from 1 March 2009 it cam into affect

there is no such thing as a freebie from SARS. dividend taxes have always been there, previously in the from of STC. both STC and the new div tax were/are withheld by the payer to facilitate collection for SARS. recipients have and will continue to receive dividends NET of tax.
