Hi there... Is there any technical indicator that measures the slope of a MA line? (i.e. i would like to know how how +ve or -ve the long term trend of a stock is). regards Werner

The angle of the slope is irrelevant - it depends on the scale you are using, and whether it's linear or log scale. You can get a technical measure of the increase, but the visual angle of a trend is meaningless. I think something like a ROC (Rate of Change) indicator might be what you are after, or one of the derivatives of it like SIROC

I always measure the distance from the price to the moving average, if this distance become too much , i go either long or short, print out and measure with a ruler.Steep slopes tell me the market is in a hurry,so to speak, to finish a wave.see www.gold-eagle.com at tecg analysis block, they have more there.
