Nothing new here striker, but trying to align yourself to the inevitable could be futile. Things could take decades to unravel. The Americans can be extremely creative when it comes to finding new ways to kick the can down the road.

And if ROMNEY becomes president, the unravelling may really happen?

- Economic indicators from around the globe, point to a perfect storm brewing. I believe we could be on the precipice ( surely not decades away) for huge structural reforms of a broken system. For me it's only a question of time and severity. OMO.

It's been brewing for years and years. $14 tril in debt didn't happen overnight. Will $20 tril, or $30 tril make things any different ?

- Maybe not if the status quo carries on. But will it ? The article indicates that China and Japan are losing faith in the $ and propping up America's deficits. The Arabs and BRIC countries are likewise disenchanted with the Dollars world currency status

That $14 trillion debt belongs to the world now - and rightly so! It was used to finance an ongoing war to control the supply of oil. Does the world honestly think that America will carry these costs as a charity to the rest of us. It was used to provide China, Japan, Korea et al. with a market. This stabilised the region - especially against Russia, who at the time this game began - was trying to establish control over energy supplies. Sure- America has promoted her own agenda in the process - so what? Nobody cared during 40 years of accelerated growth.

The Americas - the most powerful state - survives on their own and the world's "trust" in the $. Survival is all about hope and trust. To follow an ostrich's approach is to race towards gloom and doom. Should you follow the prophecy, everything SHALL turn into shambles - unfortunately (maybe even fortunately) no one can time the event/s. Awareness will enable one to follow the signs and causes for imbalances and ultimate collapse. Unawareness might even become a cause rather than merely being a victim...

You can be as aware as you like - all you can ever do is follow! Head-in-the-sand or otherwise, a-following we must go. Still- this is the most benevolent empire the world has seen, so this is a good time to be a follower.

No fear, we are well protected by the FED and it's toolbox of trade secrets. So much easier to fight the grizzlies, just keep the ammo coming and throw some water on the barrels.

- Okay , beneficiaries is the word. And the only beneficiaries has been the narrow, self serving, vested interests of corporate American greed and the politicians who sponge off their contributions , who once in power, perpetuate the lie of the great Ame

Dream?? That's exactly what it was! - Please! The free lunch you mean. A lot of incompetent, overpaid "workers" had a 50 year fully paid for holiday. So it's over. So what? They never had it in the first place. Those "vile" capitalists built the place! This endless "entitlement mentality." Spare me...

AND what's more- the workers votedthe politicians in- so be it on their headsif the system can no longer support a venal, corrupt bunch of politicians that pander to the worker to secure their tenure - and in the process- destroy the American industrial complex by pricing it out of the market. (Sounds like South Africa, doesn'tit?)

As for being "the worst off in 30 years..." Well that's obvious - we are moving into the global village - so there is a dilution of living standards. I would suggest that some of these workers should try living in China for a while-then we can talk about how "badly-off" they are!
