So here is the catch right. Oil is up, which means US inflation is going to be accelerated. Good for gold. USD is going to take a pounding according to just about everybody - good for gold. The problem is US pounding = rand gain - bad for SA miners and SA investors in gold stocks. So what do we do? Personally, I think any gold miner that is exposed to 1) Eskom price hikes, 2) SA inflation thanks to oil price, and rand strengthening, is a high risk investment

GLD SSF's? Reduce company-specific risk, but it obviously limits the horizon to short term.
