....bringing its meeting forward,by three weeks is a step in the right direction. Its obvious what they have in mind,as this will boost financials and then filter through to the rest of the economy....I'm glad that will in future hold monthly meetings instead of bi-monthly till the crisis is over.

repo down to 7.50% by end aug....now theres something to look forward to!....do remember the election will be past and purse strings will be tightened again to pay all those ministerial salaries etc!....i think we have to remember we must attract money to our economy so IMHO not likely below 9%

Sure Barry, but don't the prospects of growth outweigh the promise of high interest rates? Which would bring in more forex into the country and benefit the economy the most?

Definitely the adherence to western principles of capitalism broadly speaking that is....All systems develop faults and have stresses and strains pulling them in different directions, how ever free entrprise should still be the basis of our developing economy....Having a trade union wanting to nationalise Iscor does not help one bit,so we should keep that kind of talk in check!....It does not also help our cause by having a presidential candidate that is been hounded by the law.He should step down in rhw greater interests of our country or all charges should be dropped as the whole thing is bad publicity and not calculated to bring investor money in.
