nope not correct....the difference is that the future market is for delivery of a contract on a specified future day (Nearest being Sept)...what I think is causing the confusion is the fact that the Dow price is generated even after the NYSE and the NASDAQ have closed...

# The Dow Jones Industrial Average is based on component stock prices from the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq - the "home markets" for these stocks - while the Indicative Dow Jones Industrial Average is based on component pricing from the XETRA platform at the Deutsche Börse. # The official Dow Jones Industrial Average is calculated in U.S. dollars, while the Indicative Dow Jones Industrial Average is calculated using euro prices for the stocks on XETRA and then converting to the current U.S. dollar values. # The Dow Jones Industrial Average is calculated during U.S. trading hours. The Indicative Dow Jones Industrial Average is calculated during European trading hours prior to the U.S market opening. # Different ticker symbols: * Dow Jones Industrial Average - DJI * Indicative Dow Jones Industrial Average - DJII ($US) * DJIE (Euro)
