Don't bet against resources. FTSE closed its gap in spectacular fashion, we only partially. The key index? FTSE mining, which hardly budged. Is this index useful?

I thin*****ey factor here is Rio Tinto jumping 12% on announcing that they are letting capitalism take its course, retrenching 15% of their workforce to reduce debt.

I meant that if the FTSE closes its gap, but not on the back of resources, it is not a strong indicator that the JSE will close its one?
