Why the sudden drop after results announcements?

Why the sudden drop in share price after results announcements? Were the expectations of EPS by the market higher than what was stated, or is this just profit taking again after its decent run lately. I see volumes traded have increased though.. Any thoughts??

That's what I suspected as well. But 18% is not too bad. Long term do you think this is cause for concern? I've done very well with PNC. +600% in capital growth...I also expected more especially with the recent acquisitions. Many fund managers are now punting them..but is it still a good medium term hold.?
