Gravy, Zuma is just plain and simply corrupt. Being the president is post based on trust....and how could we ever trust him? I'm sorry, Zuma will never get my vote. Sexwale on the otherhand is a shrewd business man and will run the country like it was a business. Which is exactly what is needed.

Maybe the diet just adds to it.I agree with you on that to a certain extent, but there are still too many unskilled people around in africa which leads to socio-economic problems.

Actually its a lack of correct socialization, that leads to socal problems.. ie parenting. you just have to watch a 3 year old who does not get there own way to understand the dangers....

true:family structure were nobody knows who their father is and sub satndard education does generally not make you confident to tackle lifes problems and add value to a country.

Yup, and many of the parents are children, having a child as father. No provider, no parenting, it goes on...

If poverty lead to crime why is it the poorest countries do not have the highest crime rates... crime has a much closer corrolation to age demographics then wealth. The younger the overall popualtion the worse the crime( of 30% below 25 is the tipping point if I remember correctly). So fewer parents, teaches leaders= the less socialized = higher crime.

John, your point about labourers nutrition is spot on. brown bread has become white bread, water has become coke, 5 spoons of sugar in the tea/coffee... and this is where the money is to be made as the previous bulls in the sack are suffering from more and more erectile dysfunction... so how about we go into partnership and sell little blue pills to the inyangas and viagra fed oysters to the MPs?

Anyone who is as ignorant as to think he can prevent getting aids by having a good shower afterwards will be disastrous for this country

No a word about the man's pending prosecution on a list of serious offences! Is there another country in the world (banana republic or even one which just takes itself only semi-seriously)where someone in his position would even be thought of as a possible candidate? On the basis of the moral standards which apparently apply in this country, maybe a possible conviction before 21 December would dramatically increase his prospects of election to high office.

mmmm let me see, ever hear of Whitewater? And, what's more, looks like that might not be an impediment to Hilary the second time around either.

then of course there is; nixon (well not really corruption, but close enough), Berlusconi, sharon, Sharif, Thaksin, Narasimha Rao, Bhutto, Nastase. Mon the list goes on and on and on. Not good if zuma wins and is charged, but not a world first - not by a long way.

Two wrongs(or many) do not make a right. The thing to be said about all these countries is that in most cases the culprits are made to pay at some stage. At some stage Zuma might also be charged with corruption.Be that as it may,the candidate that is actually presented to us, will be called a compromise candidate, but will be firmly in Mbeki's camp.Probably some one none of us has ever heard of! Probably the candidate will think the stock exchange is where u buy and sell live stock!

The Polokwane dorpsberaad is 15-20 December, I think. When is the December close out? There could be some truly spectacular volatility around that time, what?
