CAIRO, May 12 (Reuters) - The UAE's Emirates Telecommunications Corp. (Etisalat) is evaluating South Africa's MTN as an acquisition candidate as part of a drive to expand in Africa, it chairman said on Monday.

"We are always looking for expansion in Africa," Etisalat Chairman Mohammed Omran told reporters at a telecom conference in Cairo. "We are evaluating MTN among other companies." (Reporting by Wael Gamal)

There may be an offical bid by the end of the week anywhere from 165 -175 but i dont there will be deal until it reaches 200-220?

Remeber the time when the CEO borrowed R350m to buys shares when it was R70 and we thought he was crazy. Either the bids are true or this is a plot to dolly up the share price so that debt can be repayed.
