the share is again touching the R44 mark. Do you guys think there is now more value in Mediclinic. is it worth it to sell LHC and buy Medi-clinic?

if you investing, then why sell a company that is doing well; If LHC suddenly does badly, and you not impressed with the fundamentals, then only consider dumping LHC for Mediclinic. If trading, mediclinic not an issue so ride the trend on LHC with stop losses, sell at targets or sell 50% of your holding and keep balance at breakeven.

It depends on your outlook on NHI. If NHI comes into effect then all SA medical schemes and hospitals will be adversely affected. AS LHC is mainly SA based and MDC mainly international based - this could be good time to switch. But otherwise agree with Rams - LHC is very well run company with good prospects so probably not enough reason to simply swap them with MDC.

cost of health care if a global issue, not just SA and hospitals are most at risk I thinks

the problem is supply and demand....demand always more than supply so despite costs and legislation, it cant come cheap and it cant come free...either the patient, the funders or goverment will have to pay...
