That's why the chinese are investing in africa, they will be needing lots of natural resources to keep fueling the economy that is growing at 10% plus. Hence the commodity boom...

So, what do you think that translates into in terms of local stock opportunities ?

Commodities have priced these demands in, hence the bull market for the past two year. How long can they keep up, i cannot tell.

The first thing that comes to my mind, is SASOL, does China have abundant coal resources, then they can work together with SASOL (like i think they have started) and get coal to liquid plants up to get fuel from coal instead of crude oil, this could make then generate a but of the demanded fuels from coal from their own country, that could also help SASOL shares in the longer term, that is my opinion, what do you think?

sasol- probably the cheap blue chip at the moment, however there is some tax issues which should be clarified during this budget(next week). Could be negative or positive?

Agreed; in the meantime, make money; have fun! SOL will get through tax issues which have been priced in by the seasoned traders - it's the newcomers like me who suffer every now and again!
