different reasons maybe - maybe GREED is the common thread when U look at the size of the 2006 and 2007 bonuses paid out by the Wall St Investment Banks - worse than 1929 !!! OMO

Lived through a few crashes but this is unique.Amazing how a few months ago a regular commentator on a well known US finance channel said that the modern day markets would never collapse like 1929,because of advanced systems in place to protect them....ye right!

If you think that the financial system is about to collapse, DO NOT BUY GOLD. BUY TIN. Tinned food (and bottled water)that is. It will be easier to BARTER with than gold ingots. It will keep you alive too. For those that think that the end is nigh, do not worry. THIS TOO WILL PASS.

So you're still optuimistic LouisG, nice to see. There's over doing it on the upside and overdoing it on the downside, which is good, it means were nearer the bottom but it's still some way off me thinks. Once everyone has sold their shares the market will flatten out, then's the time for me to go long.

How do you decide when the market has flattened? Don't you worry that you may miss out on the first 20-30% rise?
