what would be the reason if i placed my order and it did not go through for some time despite there being no change in the underlying price of the share ? please help this happened many times. [email protected]

It could just be a matter of liquidity, i.e. no buyers/ sellers to match your price. Some shares have very low liquidity. When you say the price remains the same, I guess you are refering to the ruling price, i.e. the price at which the last transaction took place. You can look at the bid/offer prices of that particular share. That will tell you at what price they are prepared to buy/ sell.
