Who decides that a share will suddenly go up 5% at the start of the day and then stay at virtually the same level all day? What has changed since yesterday and what is so special about that level?

This share tracks the Tencent movements on the Chinese market.. Up a similar percentage today

Thanks, I will have to ask the same thing about tencent then.

Maybe the Chinese government passed a law overnight banning the sale of tencent shares.

looks like your short troubles are not over. The Hang Seng Index futures are up by 5% as of now

betting on Tencent right now is a complete lottery. Asian markets are notoriously volatile - and an 8% daily move on a stock is quite normal. Thing is - those markets are so damn speculative, that it could swing 4% the other way tomorrow just as easily. So Naspers will move in 5% increments easily
