The African Green Revolution Forum has most of its speakers calling for public-private partnerships to ensure the “green revolution” in Africa is a success. Kofi Annan, who is chairing the forum, has said: “We will be looking to governments for leadership to create an environment that will enable agriculture to prosper and grow and we will be looking to the private sector to drive and sustain that growth. Working together we can achieve a food secure and prosperous Africa.” As the speakers took turns speak on the topics, it was evident that all favoured the public private partnership approach to achieving a green revolution. Kofi Annan, who is also Chairman of the Alliance for Green Revolution in Africa, stressed that more partnerships are crucial to transforming Agriculture.
