StanleyB, trend I find takes a while to develop but tails can form rather quickly. Probably not the best example of a tail in AMS but the spike out and close at open showed the intention. The problem with tails is you need at least the next day to confirm them. I use them infrequesntly as they are not that common. But they are almost certainly a good reversal indicator. Used with the other TA tools you can get a great direction indicator.

Hozit guys...I have been back trading full time and as a result I have been chatting at DWT..nothing wrong with SFM but it can be very slow. Also I have been learning a lot from chatting to the "pro's" at DWT.. I still have a lot to learn so it has been good to be a small fish in a big pond again...AS for SARS...my meeting was with customs and excise regarding my little project...AND... it went very well, I managed to convice some hard ***** burocrat that my way, was the right way. LOL, had 100k loss at 290 went short, when long at 292 and never looked back. AGL still has some upside. I see a close above 330 will open the door for 350. Res 335 and 344. yesterdays pullback? a consolidation?

Well u need to know where your passion is. You need to know what your final goal is. Finance and the stock market is not a simple game. I'm almost finishing studying 3rd year subjects of the BCom and that has helped a lot. I've done a lot of reading on the stock market and finally the experience. It's been a long road to where I'm now. I suppose I could have become a top engineer, but probably swung in this direction just in time.

Yea Kumba did well until 11am and then went back into her proverbial shell (think it will break out soon, volumes are pretty thin) but what can be said about AGL mmmmm, what a run, been waiting for that to happen for a while from 230. Broke 265 well Next resistance is 274 volumes good 5mil. be weary if many of the tops were at this vol. Statistics everytime in the last year there has been 2 days of rising and similar volumes it tops out.

There is a good chance I will get stopped out today, however I have learn't from past experience that trading intra day very often results in the closing of a position only to see that trend reversed by closing bell and your original trade goes on in the direction you first expected it to. On balance, trading end of day always gives you a more accurate picture than trading intra day, unless of course your strategy is to trade short term intra day moves which I do on the indexes but not individual shares. IMO AGL is currently untradeable if you are out of the market as you do not know where it will close and if it will resume its uptrend. Todays closing price and Dow performance later tonight will give you a far more accurate steer on next steps than trading on intra day moves. IMO

253 is a pretty arbitary value - easily within a single day's trading range - I would say you have at least a 50% chance of being stopped out at that value in the next couple of days.
