Closing price differential.

Simon - why does a stock's opening price sometimes differ from the last trading price ? For instance the last traded price for AQP was R33.24 yet todays opening reflects the price of R32.20 ,which was the price of the transaction prior to the final trade.

if teh last trade is not at 5pm the JSE using complicated theories to determine a ruling/closing price ..

Thanks for the quick response - it seems the JSE have some weird methods.Why dont they just keep it simple ?
