ya, John be right. What if when comms slide the Rand goes to 12? or world wide markets head through the roof? Trade the price, ignore everything else.

ok, what exactly do you mean by "trade the price"? I have never really understood the motivation behind that statement.

don't try and predict or figure out the future. All you do is look at the immediate truth (that's the current price) and respond accordingly to that price, not respond to what your bias is ()how many been short thsi week as we hiot new highs? that's trading yoyur bias not the price). Point is to know before hand how you will respond at certain levels. For examples, when I am in a trade I have 2 numbers written on a piece of paper, one is a downside sell price, the other an upside sell price. I do nothing until one or the other is hit, then I trade the price.

In all fairness the new high was a mere 59pt higher (+0.2%), and the close below the previous all time high. The high is a natural resistance and not gut feeling or bias.

so, one could also say trend lines that us TA's draw, and Fibonnacci levels, are just methods of us arriving at those 2 buy and sell prices.....

roman, yes.

super, well natural resistance, gut feeling, what ever are all biases as you have an expectation. As soon as you have an expectation you have a bias - and with respect you are a bear = massive bias (as massive as the bulls, but still a bias). When I enter a trade I don't even have an expectation of a profit, just exit levels.
