How do we know whether there are any value in the shares now that the Toyota investment has been sold? It appears that there isn't but the shares are still trading, why would that be?

well they are still a listed company, and as such can trade on the JSE (JDH is still around). If they are now a pure cash shell then they either have to find a business, arrange a reverse listing or delist, I think they have a year.
