I see there are about 30 to 40 trades that have gone through for mittal at R 1, R2 R5 R8 and still more in the pipeline any ideas anyone???????

you mean 1,2,3,8 quantity not rands. Most likely futures baskets. A trader will go long the stock and short futures (alsi) (or the other way round). Then they need to buy/sell stock in the basket quantity so small numbers.
