WNH - another small cap worth watching

I see there are no previous postings for this one and believe it is worth looking at. Whilst it has never really been a massive mover in the past I believe that it is in a good position to produce a surge in its price. With a NAV of 158, a PE of 8,63, its BEE in place, a dividend of 7 cps, a new production facility commissioned in Dec 2006 and it being in a position to take advantage of the growth in the platinum industry - this should bode well for the future of this one. Take a look and let me know what you think.

Winhold has been a disappointment for quite a while now. Take a careful look at the 2006 annual report and its relative optimism and compare it with the recent set of interims. A badly structured BEE deal has landed them with a load of on-balance sheet debt and minorities in both operating subsidiairies (rather than at the holding company level) which will make it difficult to grow. The recent result was saved by a nil tax rate. Cashflow was sharply negative. Winhold has below par management and a poor return on capital, hence the market rating. Unless the former changes, I'll stay well away. Far better opportunities exist in the market.

OIL - GUNDLE PLASTICS - ENOUGH SAID! HER PET RECYCLING OPERATIONS OFFER HOPE - BUR NOW ESKOM HAS SPOILT ALL OF THAT. THAT SAID - HER PROPERTY HOLDINGS (ONLY SHOWN AT COST IN HER FINS. ) PROBABLY MEAN THAT THE REST OF HER ASSETS AND OPERATIONS ARE FREE - HUGE VALUE. BUT THE SAME CAN BE SAID FOR SEARDEL - AND LOOK AT THAT MESS. A SHARE FOR THE VERY, VERY, VERY PATIENT.

they have issued a profit warning, supposedly on the back of discontuned operations. Re Gundle, they acknowledge that there were unable to pass on raw material price increases quickly enough - when all competitors were able to - so really poor management. If they were dumb enough to perhaps have fixed selling prices to merchants which prevented them from doing so, remains dumb management. Have a look at share sales by Directors this year, which also reflects their own faith. market talk is that in recent months they have achieved good sales, but at a loss! the New Building Regulations will impact the sales of their roofing insulation as not deemed compliant. They are pretty much a one-act pony as have never diversified properly. old management stuck around too long and believed in their own infallibility; new management have not managed to turn around as yet. property assets may be the most valuable part of the business....but only when the market turns. There must be better share to purchase.
