Futures closeout

Hi all, just wondering what impact will the futures closeout have on the commodity stocks.. all the big miners are massively and I mean massively oversold.. would it be prudent to go long in anticipation that the short sellers will come out and cover the shorts thus propelling these stocks.. if I recall last year the JSE was up 2000+ points on DEC futures closeout

they can just roll their positions (long or short) into next near dated contract

But they didn't do that last year.. They had that option last year as well

sure, but maybe they will this year, or maybe things were different last year, maybe everybody was long last year .. point is, trade the price and forget the theories
