Liquidations on increase

In the spirit of sparking debate, in this lively forum yearning for something interesting to read .... I see that comparing Jan 08 to Jan 09, stats SA records an increase of 113.7% in cc liquidations, and 31% increase in company liquidations. Do we even have the resources at hand to impliment the proposed business rescue/turnaround legislation contimplated in the new Companies Act that was assented to at the beginning of April? Furthermore, as more directors get added to the delinquint register, where does that leave our economy. And just how nervous is this making Trevor Manual, I wonder.
