Why would someone put in a offer to sell lower when there are buyers willing to buy at a higher price.Market Manipulation?

i usually do it to jump the queue,i.e. sell first,but hope to receive higher prices.Also do it when there are more sellers than buyers and am nervous that my shares won't get sold or sold at an even lower price!
