US Data Revisions - Market Manipulations or genuine mistakes?

For a country who prides themselves in being the best at everything, their Stats department certainly has been making a lot of "errors" lately. What does the forum think - market manipulation or genuine errors?

data is always being revised .. the trick is that it is rushed out, and hence has errors ..

Market manipulation probably just not worth the effort in USA because of penalties - if even possible. We just dont know and can only speculate. Best is to carry on with your own way of dealing and not to worry too much as I dont think it would affect us too much?
