Dow has fallen by 20%. More bad news to follow from the US and UK

A bear market and a recession are not the same thing. A recession is when there's negative growth in the GDP for two consecutive sessions. More and more commentators are calling it a bear market but there's still more that believe this is a correction in a bull market ... hence yesterday's rally in the Financials, though that it seeming more like Russian roulette right now!

Agree BRE not a recession as per definition also not a bear market but still a correction a bear market is generally referred to as 20% off the latest highs which means we have to go thruogh approx 26000 before it can be regarded as bear. the Dow is flirting with that 20% drop though.
