I am actually shocked at the high level of unprofessional service I received from Standard Bank. I called originally on the 25th March 2024 requesting my original ownership documents from the call centre. The agent told me that as this was my first time requesting there was no charge and that I could collect my document within 3 to 7 days after the request is raised at 33 Baker Street Rosebank. I confirmed that I can go on Thursday the 28th which he confirmed. On Thursday, I drove to the branch and was taken back by the lack of client service experienced. I was told that my request was rejected and that no one is able to assist me as not one manager was available. I called the call centre again and was told that according to the traffic department I am not the owner but according to STB I am the owner? So on the one hand I am the owner but I am also not the owner. The call was put down by the agent after telling me to hold on while he gets a team leader to assist me. Expecting someone to return my call, two hours later I called again. This time I was rejected as I did not answer security questions and was told to visit the branch? I called again and again, the fourth time I was made to download the standard bank application form and the agent assured me that one of three managers would call me back on Thursday still, which did not happen. He also assusred me that he would call me back before 4pm that day to check whether they had called me. Good thing I did not hold my breath. No one bothered to call. Today 02th April 2024, I still don’t have a clue as to what I am expected to do in order to obtain my cars papers. If I do not get a response today, I will be calling media like 702 and going on the web to raise awareness that people that finance cars through standard bank, will not receive their papers, in fact they are disregarded as clients as they no longer pay anything towards standard bank. I further will be going to the onbudmans and logging an official complaint against Standard Bank
