Hi. I used the app with no hassles for a few days, today as soon as I want to enter my password, I receive a pop-up screen prohibiting me to enter with password. The message "Screen overlay detected. Certain full screen apps, such as dimmers, can compromise your security. To continue using the Banking App please disable these in Settings>Apps."
Firstly, why is this happening how all of a sudden. 2 What apps do I have to disable, I have quite a few. This is frustrating as I have to make urgent payments as I'm on the road during the day, this method of payment via the app makes life easier, but now this!
Are using any screen dimmer type apps. If you are, you need to disable these apps.
Also please confirm what version of android you are using. I apologise for the inconvenience.
Have this issue been resolved? I have had the same problem since mid 2016 and cannot get the app to work. I am not using any screen dimmer apps and have disabled screen overlay for ALL apps on my phone. Yet, still getting this error and therefore I cannot use the banking app.
I even changed phones and loaded the latest operating system. Searching through this forum I see that in Feb 2017 people were still struggling with thi error.........with no real or useful feedback from Standard Bank.
Anyone have some ideas?
