Well spotted,Mr S.##I feel bad for the young adults who are marrying, these days. They don't stand a chance, really. To raise a child is one incredibly expensive exercise( if you want to do it right.) I am 47 yrs old.No children.5 cats.1 wife....and love my job.(trading)

No car payments...no bond payments (except for my rental properties which Tenants fortunately pay for)..no credit cards nor any other debt (live a simple life). Would probably need about R7K to cover food, insurances & utilities & fuel etc.

Around 10k expenses, still trying to get them down. Have a bond but bought a place with a cottage at the back. Stuck a tenant in there to help pay off the bond. Can offset the income against some of your monthly expenses - like interest on bond, lights and water, etc. Has CGT implications though I understand.
